OVERVIEW
EXODUS is a AAA Sci-Fi RPG developed by Archetype Entertainment, with CLIMAX STUDIOS being a significant co-developer.
The project is developed in Unreal Engine 5, and contains heavy RPG and narrative elements. With the USP being the consequences of your choices in Time Dilation, you are humanity's last hope. Travel at the edge of light speed to extraordinary worlds and make complex and meaningful sacrifices. Return home to find that your choices - and time itself - have reshaped the future you're trying to save.
Since my start roughly 2 years ago at CLIMAX STUDIOS, I've had the pleasure of being mentored by several industry vets. Now as I've gained bigger responsibilites and ownership of features, I have the opportunity of contributing to vital areas to make this ambitious title feel like a meaningful, distinct, and a polished experience that will leave a lasting impression. The following are my responsibilities:
CRITICAL PATH
As designer and Acting Lead of the Critical Path on the main hub, these are my responsibilites:
-
Own, design, set-up and maintain all main quests on the hub, from vision to presentable.
-
Collaborate with the directors and narrative in iterating on the flow.
-
Work closely on the Time Dilation USP by using proprietary systems to implement long-term consequences of your choices.
-
Companion romances and RPG interactions.
-
Prototype Crit-Path related features with blueprints.
-
Document all Crit-Path beats, conversations and best practices for team members to follow.

TECHNICAL DESIGN

In Tech Design you get to dabble in several areas. Apart from the Crit-Path, I've been:
-
Prototyping unique and dynamic companion and enemy behaviours changing based on HP.
-
Assesing and implementing work needed from other disciplines in putting together enemy / companion behaviour.
-
Optimizing performance and using best practices in blueprints by collaborating with code.
-
Designing, implementing, and iterating on modular and scalable features by collaborating with Animation, Narrative and Tech Art.
-
Providing documentation for owned features.
-
Supporting design by promoting project-standard procedures and relevant systems.
